Does some long-term antibiotic use REALLY not be a concern for resistance/superbugs? [Nov. 19th, 2009|06:18 am]

cipro online

Please, I'd like only qualified answers and/or links to places where I can read more.

In a press release for an antibiotic, it says that it's "... devoid of antibiotic activity. Therefore, even with long-term use, development of antibiotic resistance is not an issue."

Is this true? Is there more information somewhere - not necessarily about this particular antibiotic, but about antibiotics in general not contributing to resistance? The press release with more info about the antibiotic is here: http://rosacea-support.org/periostat-doxycycline-goes-generic-get.html

A little miffed at some of the nurses at my hospital (Long story)? [Sep. 21st, 2009|01:04 am]

buy cipro

So I went in at 32 weeks for preterm labor. Other than the anxiety and the whole fear of the unknown for a while, the overall experience at my hospital was ok. I had a great nurse during the day and she set a lot of my fears at ease.
Well, this past friday, (35 weeks) I was having contractions start spontaneously again, even though I had seen my doc that morning and had a good report. They began suddenly, but the only consistancy was that they kept between 3-10 minutes apart. I did everything I could to try and ease them. I had been on the couch all day, taken all my meds, drank tons of water, and laid on my left side. Nothing was stopping them. They began to get more painful after a couple of hours to the point I was unable to walk, and i was crying with intense lower back pain, and pelvic pressure that felt like I had to go #2 REALLY bad! My water didn't break (thank goodness!) But i called the hospital and asked what i should do. They informed me I could go ahead and take my last med early, as that was the only thing I hadn't done yet.
By the time my hubby got home a 1/2 hour later he called the hospital and told them he was bringing me in.

Well, I was given another IV of fluids and more antibiotics for a slight UTI. I was there for about 5 hours, still having contractions with a lot of back pain. The contractions lessened to about 2-3 an hour thankfully, but the whole time I was there, my nurse treated me like I was being a big baby and that i had no reason to be there! She told me that my contractions were only "practice" contractions and that my back pain was probably from the UTI (No, it's not- i had a severe UTI at 32 weeks and had no back cramping or pressure from it!)

Anyways, on my discharge paper, it states (from my nurse) "To return with any signs/ symptoms of TRUE labor or with any danger signs during pregnancy."
Funny thing is, there is a list of "true labor" after this which includes: "Contractions that do not go away with change of activity. resting/ walking" and Contractions may feel like menstural cramps in the lower abdomen, low dull backache below your waistline, pressure in the pelvis which feels as though the baby is pushing down, cramps in your belly, with or without diarrhea."

I had at least those 2 things when I GOT THERE! I'm not stupid, I know what was going on! I've had 1 child already and was just there for preterm labor! I have a very high pain tolerance, and my previous birth was mostly without meds! UG I'm so upset at the arrogance and the fact that I wasn't taken seriously! I hate being made to feel stupid!

I'm to the point, that maybe i should just tough it out and let my water break at home or something before i go back, but I'm worried about my own safety and health because of all the complications I've been having. And what if this starts up again preterm? Will my baby be ok? Preterm babies need to be delivered out of town, as our hospital has no NICU.

I know I shouldn't be letting this nurse get to me, but no one even came to make sure I was OK to leave, get me a wheelchair, Nothing! They were all busy with the babies in the nursery. I had to walk out of the hospital! I'm on bedrest and not supposed to be walking anywhere, let alone across the hospital! My hubby did his best to help me and bring the car around for me.

I'm now all anxious about going back there now. We live in a small town though and it's the only hospital my OB delivers at.
I know most of this is just venting, but I don't have anyone to really talk to right now, and I need to get this off my chest so I don't keep thinking about it.

Anyone have bad experiences with their hospital? What did you do? How will I know when to go back if they keep brushing off my symptoms as nothing?

Thanks everyone for reading and letting me vent =P
Please don't be mean or rude if you want to post anything. I don't need anymore stress right now! Thanks!

cipro online

I've been fighting this yeast infection por more than a week. Took diflucan and 72 hours later the second dose, they didn't help much.
Tuesday I started taking colloidal silver and I feel much better but still some burning.
How many more days should I stay taking the cs ? Maybe I didn't take enough, just 1/2 teaspoon x 3 times a day, maybe I need to increased the dose.
Don't want to go to the doctor again, all they give you is antibiotics and I don't like it, plus I am allergic to a lot of them.
Any suggestions?

My 3 yr old son had had throat infection with fever 3 weeks back and was on antibiotic (amoxicillin) for five days. Last monday again he is down with fever, sorethroat and cough with phlegm and doc prescribed him with another antibiotic (zinnat=cefuroxime axetil), but still after 3 days it didnt go away so we consulted another doctor who knows that we are reluctant to give antibiotic, he told to stop this antibiotic and he prescribed antihistamine cough syrup and told us to wait for it to go. However today is the 6th day and stil he is running a fever (38.2 deg C), we are planning to take him back to doc today, and sure that he will give us amoxicillin again. should we give him antibiotic or no......???? is it safe to give him tylenol for this straight 6 days??? i m a worried and confused mother.... please suggestion

PS. My son hates the taste of antibiotic and fights violently when given, and it often ends up being spat out oir vomited.

what could this be bumps on tongue? [Nov. 17th, 2008|04:39 am]

cipro online

about 10 days ago I went to the doctor cause I had been stuffed up,ear ache, and had white puss looking things on the back of my throat near where that thing hangs on the back of your throat. The doc gave me Keflex to take 500 mg and I started feeling better. Then the white bumps went away, then came back a few days ago and are starting to go away again but I notice the back of my tongue has these big red bumps and when I swallow it feels like there is a pimple or something on the left side of my tongue but under it.hard to explain.I looked as far back as I could on my throat and seen the bumps and then tried to feel around them with my finger and they get bigger as they go down my throat/tongue.What could this be? I have 3 more days of antibiotics. Is this something serious? When I swallow on the left side as I said it feels like a pimple way int he back of my throat.HELP!

buy cipro

My 3 year old son just recently got over the stomach flu about a week ago and he is getting up ONLY in the middle of the night once a night to vomit. He had been doing this for about 5 days now after the flu has gone? It's really weird becase he is fine all day, no fever, not telling me he's sick. I am wondering if anyone has expereinced this and I know the doctors won't do anything but prescribe antibiotics like they always do???

I have this (cyst) that has suddenly showed up. They gave me a 7 day supply of an antibiotic. 7 days later I still have it and they asked me if I had a cold recently. Which I thought I was going to get but never did. I forgot to ask the doctor what does a cold have to do with this. They sent a culture to see what it is. So what does a cold have to do with my sore????

Could there be a direct relationship with sugar consumption and folliculitis type symptoms?</ [Oct. 14th, 2008|05:10 am]

buy Ciprofloxacin

I've had folliculits for about 5 years now. I've been to several doctors and have even had it biopsied. I've had 4 different diagnosis. I've tried several different antibiotics, soaps, creams, and more. The problem won't go away, but I notice it get better when I stop eating so much chocolate, cookies, and soda. On the other hand, I have also been taking 1000 mg of vitamin C and 2000 mg of Lysine daily for about a month. That has helped suppress the oral herpes out-breaks.

Gall Bladder surgery while pregnant, is it possible? What are the chances of survival of the [Aug. 26th, 2008|04:16 am]

cipro online

My daughter is only 20 weeks pregnant, and was diagnosed with gall stones at 6 weeks, in the last 14 weeks she has been to the ER several times with severe pain. They are thinking about sending flying her to Phoenix, if the gall bladder becomes infected, it has already been inflamed this weekend and was on IV antibiotics. I believe they are giving her the wrong diet, because it is just not working, not even just a little. Just since this Friday she has been in the ER 3 times, and hospitalized twice I am very concerned about the baby. My daughter is highly allergic to medications, and tonight she was given another medication that she had a allergic reaction to. Has anyone had surgery for the gall bladder while pregnant, if so, where? how far along? and the question I don't want to ask, how did it turn out for the baby? Any advice, any information, I truly believe that knowledge is power. Please help with the knowledge! And thank you a head of time for your time..

I'm boarding a plane tomorrow and the last thing I need is a running nose (for my sake and for the people on the plane). What's the best way to cure it without having to go through medication?

(medication is a last resort as I am in a foreign country and have allergies to specific antibiotics. )
